Miguel González-Leonardo holds a Bachelor in Geography and Planning from the University of Valladolid and a Masters in Regional and Population Studies -Demography- from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Currently, he works as a Junior Researcher at the Centre for Demographic Studies and he is part of a team working on three R+D+I Projects:“Integrating Research Infrastructure for European expertise on Inclusive Growth from data to policy - InGRID-2”, “Comportamiento Demográficos y Estrategias Residenciales: apuntes para el desarrollo de nuevas políticas sociales” [Demographic behaviors and residential strategies: notes to develop new social policies] and “Movilidad residencial, selección sociodemográfica y substitución de la población: ¿hacia la polarización de las ciudades españolas?” [Residential mobility, sociodemographic selection and population substitution. Towards the polarization of Spanish cities]. He has been enrolled in a Ph.D. Demography Program since 2017 with a FI Grant (Government of Catalonia and European Social Fund). His dissertation discusses the relationship between migration and education in Spain. His areas of study focus on topics related to: population mobility, internal migration, characteristics of migrants, urban and rural demography and regional geography analysis in Spain and Castile and León. During his Bachelor's Degree, he completed an internship in the Economic and Social Council of Castile and León (a regional institution of Spain), and a research stay at CED during his Masters. He also worked in the Department of Geography of UAB.
